
The HUD Homeless Outreach and Intervention Project is a statewide collaborative project among the five Community Action Agencies and the state of New Hampshire Department of Mental Health and Developmental Services. The project is administered locally by Community Action Partnership of Strafford County and is designed to provide aggressive outreach and intervention services to the unsheltered homeless throughout the county. Our agency provides education and advocacy when assisting persons in accessing services.
Qualification Guidelines and/or Checklists:
In New Hampshire, homeless is defined as:
- An individual or family that lacks a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence; or
- An individual or family that has a primary nighttime residence that is: a supervised publicly or privately operated shelter or transitional housing;an institution other than a penal facility that provides temporary residence for individuals intended to be institutionalized; or a public or private place not designated for, or ordinarily used as, a regular sleeping accommodation for human beings.
